WP - Ski & Ride School - Kids on Snow Supervisor - Winter Seasonal - FT

POSITION SUMMARY
The On-snow supervisor is responsible for the lesson assignments, direction and leadership of the activities of the Ski& Ride School Instructors and sales staff, while maximizing the guestâ s ski lesson experience in a cost effective manner. Major duties will include guest service at lesson sales locations, hiring, scheduling, class assignments, training and evaluating of sales and instructor staff. Other desired qualifications include superior interpersonal skills, and the understanding of business principles and efficient organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Responsible for the daily operation of Group and private lessons.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating staff
  • Involved with forecasting staffing needs and schedule team and individuals for daily assignments
  • Provide ideas for incremental growth of lesson participants
  • Conduct and participate in regular staff trainings
  • Perform goal setting with instructors and follow up daily/weekly to help achievement of the determined goals
  • Monitor service delivery on a daily basis
  • Coordinate daily activities with lesson sales desk and personnel
  • Communicate daily with instructors and management team regarding information and issues that may be company, department, job, or performance related
  • Coordinate daily activities with other Ski& Ride School supervisors in all areas
  • Assist and monitor the payroll process to ensure accuracy and timeliness of instructor compensation
  • Promptly handle problems and complaints that arise during day-to-day operation of the Ski& Ride School Lesson desk
  • Participate in the gathering of information and production of management reports as instructed by the Ski& Ride School Director and/or Adult Manager
  • Cooperate with and assist the sales efforts of the Ski& Ride School
  • Assist in annual budget preparation
  • Conduct or attend meetings as required
  • Coordinate and cooperate with other resort departments daily
  • Actively participate as a member of the Ski& Ride School management team, especially in the areas of analyzing daily operations and recommending changes that
  • Promote teamwork, safety, and health
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Ski& Ride School Director and/or Adult Manager
  • Ensure that safe practices are adhered to daily for all operations with guests and staff

EDUCATION& EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS(state minimum required and preferred)
Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • PSIA or AASI level 2 certification Required
  • PSIA or AASI Level 3 or above preferred
Experience:
  • One year supervisory experience or equivalent responsibility
  • Minimum Five years of experience as a snowsports instructor
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrated and documented effective leadership and management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to demonstrate expert riding skills in all terrain and conditions
  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic business principles (budgeting, cost management, guest service)
  • Efficient and effective organizational skills

This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Mountain Environment:
  • The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...
  • The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.
  • Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.
  • Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
